Words of Hope for Japan

Although I’m far away

my heart can feel your anguish

And today I write with love

so your hope does not vanish.

I can’t even imagine

the horror you went through.

And since that terrible day

in my prayers there is always you.

I know I can’t see you

and we don’t even know each other.

You might have lost a loved one

and it’s a pain you can’t ignore.

But lift up your head and realize

there is so much more to live for.

You have been given a second chance

so embrace your life and hold it tight.

There is devastation around you

but hope and love to make it right.


I wish I could be there to help

pick up every stick and stone.

Be a shoulder to cry on

if you feel helpless and alone.

But I can’t be there right now

so my help will come some other way.

I will make sure through prayers and words

you are not forgotten at the end of the day.

There will be a better tomorrow

and I know you will pull through.

And through the distance I’ll send my spirit

so night and day I’ll be with you.
